So I recently just got off of work and I went take my shower i came from out the bathroom and walk into the frontroom my mom ask me where’s my clothes (I had on shorts and a big t shirt) so I told her I had shorts underneath she goes on to tell me that my shorts that I have on isn’t shorts mind u I’m not going anywhere but In bed I just don’t understand what the problem is I’m almost 21 years old and plus I literally had a night gown on yesterday which is the same length as the freaking t shirt ! Somebody please help me understand the issue

It’s not about them not liking what I wear it’s about them respecting me and my choices it’s like they wanna control what I wear and I honestly like wearing shorts bc it shows off my tats
Just have a nice chat with your mom, make her understand that your comfortable the way you are. Even I like sleeping in my shorts but my mom keeps nagging about it cause it’s winter and I easily catch cold. There must be a reason why your mom says that, if it’s something like what others will think and stuff just tell her politely that your just going to sleep nobody is going to look at you etc. Usually when we try to make them understand our situation politely and build trust, the situation improves but if it backfires then chodo, your gonna get a job in a few years and leave anyway

She told me that her husband would have something to say about my choice of clothes but I honestly thought I was being respectful by putting shorts on underneath my shirt

I would’ve flipped if I was in your situation, like it’s my body it’s my comfort it’s my wish what I like to wear, if the societies eyes aren’t good then it’s they’re problem

But what i don’t understand is why do they have to make it seem as if we in the wrong for wanting to wear wth we want to wear like if I can’t walk around in shorts and a shirt in front of ya husband you need to be checking him out yk
