My bf had a rough past. He got cheated on by his last ex. It was really difficult for him to pull himself out of the mess.
We’ve been dating since 9 months and I feel he holds himself back because he thinks his past might repeat and i might just leave him. How do I make him trust me?

9 Months is a good time for him to appreciate your such a caring presence. One cannot let go present because of past. you don’t need advice or change, he do. Ita high time someone educate him about life and importance of you in that life. I am proud to see how very much you are worried for him and seeking solutions. I’ve been talking to his best friend and he knows the case. He says he’ll make sure my bf realises that you can hold on to your past like that and impose it on every other person.

Well, ngl 9months are not a matter of joke. It’s a lot of time to understand someone. And decide that who’s worthy or who’s not. If it still bothers him, like the questions “why his ex cheated on him? " This actually means he still stuck in the past. He still thinks about that particular girl. Caring people like you are rare to fine. Know your worth hon”. Talk to him about it. If he can open up about these, specifically his feelings then this relationship is gonna work. If he doesn’t that means he doesn’t even trust you with your past. In that case i would only suggest you to step out from something like that.
