Everyone talks about FOMO, but do you have FOPO?
You have probably heard about FOMO, fear of missing out… But what about FOPO?
Apparently 80% of people suffer with it.
FOPO :- Fear of people’s opinions
It results in :
• Anxiety
• Lower confidence
• worrying
• Changing who you are
• Not doing something
• Limiting potential
And with social media making it so easy to see other people’s opinions, it’s only getting worse!
Truth is, it’s very human to experience FOPO. Our brains are in some ways wired to do that. But you don’t have to let it consume you or stop you!
Okay so how do we overcome it?
This is going to look different for everyone, but here are some ways:
1. Take social media breaks.
2. Remember that an opinion is just an opinion. And the only one that truly matters is yours.
3. Ask yourself who are you living your life for?
4. Focus on your own goals and values
5. Audit who you are surrounding yourself with
6. Ask yourself why you care so much? This could be a signal to work on something in yourself.
Most importantly ask yourself, are you going to let someone’s opinion stops you from going or do what you want to do?
