Yesterday I was listening to music and just started crying for no reason then I cried harder thinking that I’m crying for no reason… this wasn’t the first time happening… yet everytime I feel so ‘i cannot just express in words’ about how I feel everytime this happens…
Idk what it is happening… is it because of some mental health issues idk… anyone???
It could be anything. What song were you listening to ? Too little information, to know what might it be
It was ‘O khuda’ from the movie Hero

Music and anything of beauty tends to evoke tears of joy in us. It could also be tears of sorrow, as certain music narratives remind us of the story of the hurt inner child. Take this as a good sign that you are recovering. Crying is a great tool for grieving.
Do not be guilty or fear crying in the first place. Everyone should cry and it shouldn’t be looked down upon. It’s an empathetic way of unburdening ourselves with our suppressed and repressed feelings.
Could you share what song/genre makes you cry and what doesn’t? What do you think is the problem you are dealing with right now?
Have a good one :)
I usually listen to soft songs… sad or romantic songs they have such a calming effect on your mind… But sometimes Idk why if I’m listening to a song I start crying maybe because I feel lonely and those songs… Ahhh… So relieving… feels like someone is there with you but reality is opposite that’s why I think I cry
Hey there. I was in the same situation once. These types of songs reminded me of the poor little me who was the victim. I was invested in my fictitious sob story. When I start to notice the secret pleasure I get out of that story, it surprisingly starts to heal (disappear). We are addicted to the pleasure we get out of negative beliefs, thoughts, feelings. We think poor little lonely me if I feel apathy, someone will come to our rescue. We use the mechanism of manipulating the world with our feelings, to get what we desire. For example, small kids will display helplessness to get what they want from the parent. This is a learned behavior that is reactivated due to our situation of helplessness. Just becoming aware of it frees us from its grip.
The kind of content we consume has a great impact on our moods and energy trajectory. Positive stuff makes us strong, while negative content makes us go weak and reaffirms our sad story. It validates us to enjoy our negative feelings. It doesn’t mean that having these feelings should be resisted.
Listen to classical music, uplifting, ambient, positive, and devotional music. Avoid music that defiles beauty, humans, institutions, etc. Profane music also makes us weak. But I guess you intuitively choose positive music. It’s good to know regardless. Avoid the news like the plague.
So relieving… feels like someone is there with you but the reality is opposite that’s why I think I cry
Yeah, that can be a hard one. If you can realize that the source of happiness and love is within you then it won’t hurt so much. It’s healthy to want intimacy and human company.
Hope all this makes sense. Have a great day :)
Ps. Did you always feel this way or has this pandemic brought about this feeling?
Your words wer really great… through I didn’t understand the whole of it… Still it was just calming… And whether I feel this way or the pandemic has to do something with it… So I think it’s the lockdown situation that’s going on… you are lonely no visit to frnds… staying indoors all day… wanting to do nothing… ahh… It’s kinda annoying… But trying to cope up with it
I appreciate what you said :) That’s alright, I was expressing what you already perceive.
Yeah, this lockdown is unprecedented, and what you described is bound to happen. Can I suggest you go for walks into nature or a park? Do you have any hobbies you wanted to start with?
Sometimes when we feel like wanting to do nothing, we are guilty about past commitments we made to do something but never finished.
In this case, one needs to unlock the blocks to motivation. It’s caused by task paralysis and too many desires so we fail to complete any task at all. The more things you need to complete paralyzes you. One thing that helps is to stop fully fixating on your biggest existential problem and work on small problems. This relieves our mind which is keeping track of all incompleted tasks, so you have more energy now.
Hope this helps you. Have a great day :)
Ps. Our subconscious mind fails to support our actions done by the conscious mind. Go into your past and be willing to fix the wrongs from your past. Anything you are guilty of - be willing to ask for forgiveness for it and forgive yourself. You don’t have to ask directly if you don’t want to, just be willing to ask for forgiveness. Right the wrongs from yesterday. The more we give love the more we get it and feel less lonely.
