Attractive can mean different to different people as some looks for appearance and some behaviour.
Attractive women are high in demand because this is what most men want, beauty and only then they look for other abstract things. If first quality that is physical appearance is not good, only few will look at other things.
But yes men are changing and they have started valuing those women too who show positive traits as well.
It is demand and supply think, to some extent.

the charm of physical beauty is short lived. So the love inspired by it also dies soon. True beauty lies in virtues, e.g. constant and stable mind, gentle thoughts and calm desires etc. The inspiration derived from this beauty is everlasting. So we should condemn physical beauty devoid of these virtues and should love the beauty of mind and soul.
I read a poem when I use to get school. I’m not sure whether it was of high school Or 12th.
The True Beauty

He that loves a rosy cheek
Or a coral lip admires,
Or from star-like eyes doth seek
Fuel to maintain his fires;
As old Time makes these decay,
So his flames must waste away. 
But a smooth and steadfast mind,
Gentle thoughts, and calm desires,
Hearts with equal love combined
Kindle never-dying fires :
Where these are not, I despise,
Lovely cheeks or lips or eyes.
