Why do i keep smiling and laughing when im around my friends and family but break down at night when no ones watching.
Why do i feel so lonely even though i have friends and family.
Why do i feel so selfish?
I have no one to talk to anymore. Everyone is going on happily with their life.
If i keep bottling these emotions up i think one day i might not be able to take it anymore.
! keep crying to myself for hours before i go to sleep.
I keep getting low grades in school and i know im a dissapointment even though my parents keep telling me im not.
I don’t want my friends empathy and my parents support. I just want to be ok.
do i have depression?
I may not understand how you feel but you’re not alone. We are all here so talk it out. If needed do seek professional help. Love you 💞
professional help didn’t work. im just fading away slowly now.
I hear how painful that is through your words. There are a lot of people who also deal with this. There is nothing to be ashamed of, it affects a lot of us.
You’ve exhibited great courage in taking the first step by reaching out. By explaining what you’re undergoing, you have identified the potential markers of where this pain is coming from and this is extremely important.
If I look back on my life, I’ve done some things that I’m not proud of as well. Sometimes it is difficult to admit that you are feeling down. Other times, you may find it difficult to hold back your emotions. Working through your feelings is important.
Working on yourself and towards your goals is one of the best ways to make your parents proud as well. Recognising that you want to make your parents proud is also a step in the right direction… but making sure that you look after your own well being in the process is more important and should come first.
DO:
Spend some time expressing your emotions.
Share your feelings with close friends who can remain balanced and empathetic.
Reflect on your much happier days… what comes to your mind?
Activities that make you happy.
Implement skills you have that you’re very good at.
DON’T:
Ignore positive feelings or experiences. It can be easy to let the way you’re currently feeling color your view of everything else. Some people start to view life as either all bad or all good, which makes it difficult for them to recover.
Spend a lot of time with friends who increase your negative feelings.
The effort to initially start and do the small things is huge. And the pressure to do anything will seem bigger. So please try and start with something small and see how it goes from there. Always one day at a time.
We’re here for you. You are an amazing human being and sometimes we just need to be reminded of that from time to time.
