What my friend said when I told him that I liked him:
I have no romantic feelings
Not physically attracted to you
Was trying to move beyond the physical aspect of things as I was being affectionate with you
Not sure if I am strong enough to overcome my instinctive choices
Do not see you as a romantic partner in the long term
Don’t know if I am emotionally connected enough
This won’t come easy
I value our companionship and friendship but don’t know if that’s enough
Even if I agree to work things out now, it’ll just be as a result of me wanting to sort things out for a while
There is no clear ‘want’ to be there with you romantically
We aren’t technically dating or not dating. He promised effort and exclusivity. I feel like he was threatened that he might lose our friendship and that is why he agreed to give it a shot.
It’s been a few days and things are the same as they were before. I just think he isn’t interested. Should I cut things off or give it time?

No don’t cut off. He is clear since beginning and its not worth to lose a friend
If it’s not working then accept it and cherish the relationship as a friend
