* trigger warning*
A couple of years ago I would cut on my things. They weren’t deep enough or nearly bad enough to cause any serious harm but I did it anyway. I didn’t want to go. It’s been a long time and i still don’t know what i was trying to achieve by doing that but I know that it made me feel better.
I’m a lot better now. I don’t know it anymore. I’m at a great place in my life academically and emotionally.

I’m so glad I got to read about someone who actually managed to go through this part, and came out stronger than ever! Kudos!

I think it’s a great thing that you came out of the self harm, it’s not an easy thing to do, so congrats :))
As for the reason behind it… did you feel like you were out of control during that point of time in your life? Many people who self harm do it to establish a sense of control, when they feel like everything else is falling apart.
more power to you. never harm yourself for anyone or anything you are your highest priority
