Things fall apart sometimes and only things you are left with are memories… tried to make myself busy in something or the other, but can’t figure out ignoring that stuff when I’m back alone, to myself… suggestions?

Making yourself compulsive busy to forget something is biggest mistake. Thought are going to pinch when ever you alone.
Close your eyes and Start watching your breath when thought creeps in . Take deep breath than normal. You will be in much control of the situation

Ok then write down on piece of paper the things you want to forget . Just write without thinking. Then tear off the paper. Do it every day twice . You will be fine

The vicious cycle of repetitive thinking can be broken down through clarity. Don’t look for random breathing practice, go for a proper guided meditation. Try attending a vipasana session.
