Exposure to literally everything right from a very early age, mostly because of internet and media. The previous generation was less knowledgeable about stuff like existential crisis, and stuff like body image issues because this generation is constantly being compared by themselves and other from a very young age. I’m not saying the previous generations weren’t, but the extent was less, being compared to neighbours and school friends is still better than looking at super successful teenagers and wondering where they went wrong. And constant pressure of education, again not saying the previous generations didn’t feel it, but it has gotten a little bit harder. A lot of people get their degrees but don’t find jobs. All this stuff is why this generation is probably just stressed, anxious and depressed

Hmm that’s one complete answer.
But what about the solutions ?

Therapy, self help groups, counseling. The good thing though is that mental health as a topic has come a lot farther. Not everyone, but a lot of people are okay with accepting the fact that they might be mentally not well and are ok with getting treatment. This was still lacking in the previous generations. The best way to solve a problem is to remove the root cause, but in this case banning technology or not going to school or college or not seeing other people succeed is not really possible. So therapy and counselling if it gets really bad is the best course of action
