Poetry isn't restricted to penning down thoughts, 
it is like a mirage in the seasons of drought. 
Poetry isn't just about expressing, 
it is more about confessing, 
confessing those thoughts to oneself which often remain hidden,
because a few of them got forbidden, 
forbidden by society or by the brain. 
Poetry may be mundane, 
but for those who love it, 
it is rather like the downpour in the drought season not just a mirage!


i want to write about happiness. 
i want to write about how i grab my phone and run to the window at even the slightest glimpse of a potentially beautiful sunset. 
i want to write about how i feel when i look around my room and see familiar faces, smiling and laughing at stupid jokes. 
i want to write about how i feel when i read a poem i haven’t read before, how it makes me want to instantly grab a pen and write. 
i want to write about how i feel when i take the first sip of my morning coffee, how by the end of it everything starts making a lot more sense. 
i want to write about how i feel when the light breeze makes my hair blow in the wind. 
i want to write about how i feel when my friends and i are standing in the school hallway, laughing at nothing. 
i want to write about how i feel when i see flowers growing between concrete cracks, how they seem to belong there even if they don’t.
i want to write about how i feel when someone calls me beautiful.
