My dad run a business and everything seems OK (maybe?) now and he just talk about that he want me to take his business. And the problem is I donβt think I can do it. I donβt think I have a manage skill, and even my degrees not relate anything about economics ( My degrees is Japanese and Iβm just an OL). When he told about extend his business, I said that itβs OK but just careful in that, because heβs old age and I donβt feel like I can take over the business from him. What should I do now? Should I take risk and run his business or should I told him that Iβm not suitable( atleast that what I feel about meβ¦) I know that the business world is very cruel, we have to step on the others to sell our products. And somehow I donβt think I canβt do it or have another method to continue run familyβs business without using cruel ways. I really scared that I will ruin everything. He brings this problem about 5 years ago, so itβs really make me think alotβ¦>.>
I donβt know much about it, but I think you should just talk to him. Sit and talk, have a long and deep conversation. Do it somewhere nice, with no interruption. Clear the air and then I think youβll be able to do something about it. Either heβll get your point or you will get inspired. Who knows!?
Firstly, have you ever studied economics? If not, then id suggest you try understanding the basics. Try assisting him as of now. See eventually, the corporate world is cruel. Even if youre an employee, its cruel. And those are things that work life teaches you on the go. In economics, we dont study how to be diplomatic or handle those situations. Its only life thats going to teach you all those lessons.
