It’s okay to feel confused. Open relationship means having sexual or romantic relationship with more than one person at a time. If you arr completely comfortable with it. Then only go for it. Don’t force yourself without being sure or comfortable.

They probably mean open about feelings or things that should change in the relationship so you both of you can be your best for each other by talking about what is on your mind.
