My best friend is subtly dropping hints that he likes me and is going to ask me soon…but I don’t want him to do that because I don’t feel the same way and then that would ruin our friendship… what should I do

Nope the friendship can stay intact, handle it in a subtle way, you will need to clarify that there is no presence of such feelings for him, of course disturbance will be created but can be handled and you guys can still have the same bond
I think that if you dont feel the same way then you should very clearly tell him . chances are that he will start to avoid you after that because it is difficult to face someone who rejects your romantic feelings . but make him understand that it wont be fair to the both of you if you say yes under any pressure or just to save your friendship .
If he’s truly your bestfriend, turning him down will not be a problem to him. Just allow him to confess how he feel about you. Once he’s done then tell him how you feel. Be honest. Do not be afraid of telling him that you don’t feel the same. It is totally okay. :)
