There is a very much worthy territory where a person feels bad and that’s all,I think men specially those who think they can be prone to such things should develop/explore it(and just for a note so that your mind can understand its utility over anger,I would say that only mindfulness will come out of it,if you have been neatly/purely through this territory)and I would also say it because women use it a lot.

Whatever you’ve said was okay, but whatever you did was not. I can understand how you felt, but the way you reacted is not justified at all. I think we guys sometimes forget we are dealing with another human, not a thing. She also has rights, emotions, and thoughts. Better you have talked with her regarding this later.
Be gentle with her bro and respect her decisions as well. You can just ask a girl to be in your life, you can never force her. Frankly girls love when someone is passionate about her, possessive about her, but they don’t like being slapped. And as I understand, even if things are going right, she will never forget this.
