Let us talk about sexual health!
I have been on this platform for a bit now and itβs overwhelming to see the number of users (mostly young adolescents) with questions, doubts and thoughts about their sexuality and sex.
To me, it seems like the need to explore and express oneself is always in war with what is βrightβ and βwrongβ, what is βgoodβ and βbad.β
This primarily stems from the societal stigma around sex. Teaching children and adolescents about the anatomy of the human reproductive system isnβt enough. That is not sex education. Instead,
Teach them about their own bodies
Teach them the vocabulary needed to understand sex and sexuality
Teach them how to navigate romantic/sexual relationships
Teach them how to communicate with their partners
Teach them how to maintain personal boundaries and space
Teach them consent
Help them identify and unlearn beliefs and behaviours that stem from patriarchy

Youngsters should come forward to talk about this topic for better understanding

Absolutely.
Creating spaces for them to do so in a safe and non-judgmental manner is crucial to this!
True, but the way our society has made it such a taboo, itβs not easy and not everyone has access to a safe environment to talk about it or a genuine source to reach out to.
Agreed, itβs not easy to talk openly but one should have proper knowledge from someone experienced and matured person to avaoid any misleading information. Change is on the way
Itβs imperative because if people arenβt aware about their own selves and arenβt helped by a genuine source, they will look for other sources, not all of which would be genuine.
Suggesting to please approach a matured and experienced person to understand what is right and what is wrong
I do provide relevant guidance about the topic. Inviting youngsters to talk about this openly without feeling it a taboo
Looking forward to help, guide and support youngsters regarding any issues of life, health, sexual knowledge and career counseling
We are in 21st century and talking about sex is a taboo. Specially female gender need to be sensitized more about their sexual health along with let them aware about their sexual right.
