Is it okay to feel extremely disappointed with your parents if they don’t really give you the kind of reaction or say the words that you expected them to say but instead they just give you some advice?
I really wanted to hear something else because some inconvenience happened today instead they started giving me advices. Yes, those advices are legit but wouldn’t they just said sone words of encouragement first and then proceed to give advices. Why aren’t they not that affectionate and be empathetic? They would really see all the inconvenience with their friends and family and they would be empathetic to them but not to me why?!
Talk to them. You could say ‘i know you mean well by giving me advice, but i’d prefer that you listen to me/give me emotional support right now’ or sth like that
