In our India, whitness of the skin color is considered as a criteria for fairness .
The more white you are ,more attractive you are consider.
Dark skinned people are rejected eveytime.
True
Well, Being in a glamour industry I completely agree with the fact about the fair skin thingy.
However, the times are changing now. The ones with different skin colours or with different physical appearances are more successful.
Your skin colour never defines you as what kind of human you are, your behaviour, personality and work matters.
I used to face a lot of criticism while being in Delhi or rather I would say North India about being fat, or short and also dark skinned. People would call me names, like moti, kaali etc. It used to hurt but I didnt take that shit for long. I started venturing out of the city to other parts of India and trust me, not every city in India rejects dark skinned people. Been to North east and stayed there for 2 years. No one behaved rudely. South India welcomes me with open arms every time I am there. So its never the skin colour or anything. Its just maybe some literate/illiterate freakshows out there who make fun or reject people.
Personally I feel people who have flaws or who are dont love themselves or are to conscious about their appearance mock/reject others.
