I’m getting anxiety attacks due to undue pressure of marriage at home…
My heart starts beating faster wherever my father is talking to perspective grooms family…
I feel so helpless, many a times I told them, that I don’t want to get married at this point of time.
My family doesn’t understand this.
I’m independent govt. Employee,
getting good pay,
planning to buy my own house in Delhi.
Still I get too much pressure to settle with a stranger.
Is marrying someone a key to happiness?
What if it will result in a failed relationship?

Your thoughts of settling down first before making a good commitment for lifetime, is perfectly fine. Try talking to your parents about your big plans and make them clear to wait until you fulfill your dreams/goals before getting into a big commitment.
They will understand and if not, tell them what you are looking in a partner and make them clear that you need to spend some time with the chosen girl/boy by them in order to build that understanding.

Thank u so much for ur time and comment on this post… In tough times, few kind words like urs help alot…
Now back to topic, my parents are not ready to listen anything…
And if I agree to meet a guy of a their choice, then how can I judge him in few meetings…
Plus they don’t want me to invest my savings in property…
They said u can buy jewellery or other marriage stuff with this money… Why u need a house? We will find a guy, who owns a good house…
In all this chaos my whole identity is lost…
Its either my parents or my perspective groom (who is not even there in my life).

I completely understand how parents put a pressure on you. Few things that you can do to see if the guy is good or not, can be done by making conversations to know his nature, have few meeting rather than 1 or 2 to make sure if your level of thinking matches with each-other. Some little efforts put by you in the beginning can help you to know.
And talk to your parents about just saving that money for yourself.!
