Iโm a daughter of divorced parents. Iโve been dating for 3 years now. My partner had always wanted me to stay with his parents after marriage. He had also explained how good his parents are.
I met his parents recently and did not like them as they spoke only about my parents divorce, and insisted we hide about it and not tell anyone in the family, asked who will give money to my mom for survival, what happens once my grandmother dies, your mom will be alone. Your parents are divorced, are you sure about marrying my son, we are worried what may happen considering your background.
After hearing to them, I felt that they are treating me bad and did not even try to understand who I am and that my parents past doesnโt define my present.
Now I do not want to live with them after marriage but my parentner is against it. Am I thinking right or am I making a mistake?
I think your partner should support you.
Yeah
You guys have been together for 3 years.
He should take a stand for you.
I agree
Is this your post?
Yes
Oh okayโฆi was curious so asked.
Wooju @wooju
Listen i understand it hurts you what they spoke!! But remember they are parents and they were grown up in the society where other person thoughts more important than their children!! Itโs not your mistake neither his but the best solution is for you both to sit and talk because only with understanding these issues can be resolved
Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it
