Im 19 and I’ve decided to move out of state this coming winter with my boyfriend and my mom has made it very clear that she doesn’t approve. I mean she once told me that if she got a say in my life that I wouldn’t have any boyfriends at all and i would be living at home for the rest of my life. I’m sorry but who says that to their daughter like im happy and ready for this new adventure and yes i get its hard on both my parents bc im the last kid leaving house but I thought maybe they would be happy for me.

No he’s definitely not the main reason. Im currently live in Florida for the winter months and in Illinois in the summer all my family is up north and that where I want to live. I feel very lonely down here i have only one friend but we don’t hang out as much bc we work and my sisters r both up there so i would love to be closer and for some reason a few months after I’ve been in Florida i get into a very unhealthy depression so i want to try somewhere new and i want to be able to try things on my own and adventure out. Florida just isn’t for me never really has been.

Moreover, you are a part of your mother so I think you should actually find out the reason behind her words, she must have bad image for all this dating scene and which is legit
You need to befriend her and express what you want and how do you want it
Also, you are part of that house, don’t forget to grow from within it not outside it
