I wanted to give a gift to my bf on his bday but he asked me not to buy anything.I asked him why he doesn’t like gifts and appreciation. He said that he feels like he doesn’t deserve it.And he also said he doesn’t like his birthday. I feel so bad for him but my love language is giving gifts . Whenever I go out I keep looking for what I should buy for him. I really have desire to give him gifts. What should I do.
Just buy what you feel to and then give him saying that this gift is very close to you and wants you to keep it with you.

It might be because of trauma, and I think you should give him a gift, but that has a meaning of your relationship with him. You know something more sentimental than a regular gift
So that he starts liking his birthday
And let him know that he deserve all the world gifts and he does not need to think he is somewhat not deserving what you offer to him
