Just wanted to know from you all. At the end of the day what really matters? What is that you are seeking? And why?

I have always been the kinda person who says 'I'll do It myself' and then I march on to do it myself. But there are moments where I need someone to take care of Me. Ever since my mom has new a 'friend' and my dad drinks and sober and relapses, I have been taking care of me. I am down with a cold and I really wanted her and him to help me but I am here cooking my own meal, taking meds, drinking fluids and just what not. Even when I was a kid I didn't want to be a bother to them, so I made sure to do my homework on time, do my chores and just be the 'good girL' They barely ever helped me make decisions and left the entire burden on me. Whenever I bring up how normal my friends' parents are and how they don't make their kid feel abandoned, I get shot with nonsense statements like "didn't we do enough for you?" In my opinion, why become a parent when you haven't gotten over your issues and gone to therapy? You spend so much m0nẹY on ridiculous crap, why not go to therapy?
