My Dad is cheating on my Mom. I came to know about it in the year 2020. My mom is not aware of it, my sister and I confronted our dad about it but he denied saying that they just talk. I got to know after that, that they have been talking for years now. After getting to know about it, every dot started connecting. My mom has faced domestic violence and her self-esteem was ruined. She faced all kinds of stuff that a typical Indian housewife faces and the man thinks that they have certain righteousness over the women of the family. My Dad didn't use to be a bad man, we never took any sides whenever there use to be a fight. However, after getting to know about his cheating, things changed for me. I started to hate him. Whatever he has done started making sense. He is the earning member of the family and he makes use of this fact to claim his rights. It is tough to think about divorce because Indian societies don't let women live with it. I have stopped talking to him and I am not being able to forgive him. I am not at peace because of this. what should I do to get peace?

Domestic Abuse

I have a very tough relationship with my father. I have always seen him fight and be cruel to my mom. We have never hugged, we only talk about results in college, nothing else. Lately, I stood up to him and fought with him. This made him control his anger. But now I become very irritated when i see him acting like a dictator and it ends in a fight. How do i urge the control to answer back?

My dad cheated

He’s someone I look up to, he’s smart and funny, but he cheated on my mom and my mom found out. He has impotence problem, and he didn’t want to let my mom find out, he always go out to drink with his friends, and one day he got drunk and had sex with a pub woman, he said it was a mistake. he then tried to have sex with her four times again but due to his impotence problem, he couldn’t. He told us that he has this impotence problem and he didn’t want to let my mom knows becos of his ego. So he settled to try to go out to have sex with this woman to fix his problem? I feel so bad for my mom, she found out her husband cheated and she doesn’t know what to do. What would you do if you were me? Will you forgive your dad? Or follow your mom’s decision to divorce? Or tell your mom the “truth”? 

Anyhow, I don’t understand why would my dad cheat for a reason like this. Is this an excuse? I never imagined something like this to happen to our family, I can’t imagine how devastated my mom must be feeling.

Cheating

I'm kinda pissed off because for some reason, no one at my middle school likes me. All because last year I was a little annoying. So this year I go quiet and stick to myself and still nobody wants to be around me. Not only that, but my Dad recently stopped smoking. Now you're probably thinking "Good for him!" but no. Ever since he stopped he's been getting really pissed off over stupid crap. Like one time I was climbing down from my loft bed and fell off the ladder. Instead of asking if I'm okay he goes, "What the hell, you're gonna scratch the floor or put a dent in it or something. " Like he can talk. Like, 2 months before, he kicked a hole in our hallway closet door. Then he yells at me for FALLING off my ladder. Not only that but my parents don't get off work until 5:00. They don't get home until 5:30 pm. And I'm not allowed to go outside unless they are home. So on school days I'm inside all day from 7:30 am to 3:10 at school, then I get home, and I'm stuck inside from 3:30 to 5:30 by myself. Lastly, every time I ask a girl out she rejects me.

Anxiety

I have to say this because i can't keep it in anymore. you're disgusting. you're a disgusting human being. The fact you call yourself my father is beyond me. You've ruined me. All because i look like the person you lost. How is that my fault? I'm not her? why did that make you hate me? I hate myself because of you. I'm messed up because of you. I've been wanting to go away from this earth since i was 7 years old because of you. You killed me. 

My mom started cheating on my dad when I was still 4 years old, back then I didn’t know what cheating was and was confused why I shouldn’t tell my dad that there was some guy living under the same roof as we do, not even a relative but just a mere stranger. My dad lived and worked out of the country and comes home every 3 years. When I was still young I used to hang around with him a lot, basically a daddy’s girl. But when I started to grow up and finally understood our situation, I hated myself and would be disgusted at what I see in the mirror. I never talked to him again since I would always tell myself back then that I was too shameless to do that. If I would tell him then who knows what would happen to our family, either my dad would leave us and my mom would blame me my entire life for what happened. I planned to tell my dad when I turn 18 and have a stable job incase something happens but he died when I was 16 and up until now that I’m 17, I’m still feeling guilty about it and I hate my mother for it. I want to run away but I know that my mom would say that I am being selfish and ungrateful especially that we are financially struggling and they are starting to say that “oh when she turns 18 and have a job then we won’t have any financial problems anymore”. And it makes me feel guilty that I wanted to run away but still, I want to run away and heal myself. My emotions and thoughts are valid right? I don’t think they are ridiculous like what my mom said.

I hate when my dad tells me to Kms and screams at me but 10 minutes later he wants to be buddy buddy with no apology 

3am Thoughts

My dad works in other cities and only comes back for like weekends. When he's here he's drunk. When he can't drink, like this weekend cause he was on some pills he's just grumpy. He doesn't act like a dad. I'm pretty sure he doesn't care about me at all. When he's away he only texts and talks with my mom. He doesn't care about me. That hurts. What did I do wrong? Am I not enough?
