Have you tried talking to a specialist? Self diagnosis isn’t always the best. If you do have depression then the specialist will definitely help you out and if you don’t then that’s better than ever.

It’s not necessarily depression. There are a number of issues that can cause laziness. For example, ADHD presents with bouts of feeling unmotivated. PTSD can cause someone to become overwhelmed and float through life in freeze mode (polarized nervous system). OCD can cause this occasionally, too (overwhelmed into a state of perpetual indecision). But the most common cause of laziness is dopamine addiction (such as staring at a screen for too many hours in a day). Without regular exercise, a balanced & nutritious diet, and spending 30 min or more staring at a screen or focusing on negative habits, your brain becomes depleted in a vital chemical for motivation and happiness (aka: dopamine). When you engage in an unhealthy habit to escape reality, it creates a little spike in dopamine. Doing this too often, dulls your dopamine activity and the things you used to enjoy, you might no longer find interesting. Forming a healthy routine can be hard because you have no motivation. You can spend more time in nature. You could request to see a talk therapist. You can limit time spent on unhealthy habits. Adding more healthy choices and removing some of the unhealthy ones could help you find balance and eventually, motivation. Not sure if this helps. Sending you lots of love! ✨
