I am totally feeling like shit right now. I too want to love myself but i don’t know how. There are lots of people out their who are putting vedioes on YouTube and all telling to love yourself and all that but its not possible for me. How can i love myself when i dont feel worthy enough , when i think my family and friends deserve somebody better than me, they are all so loving. Leave others i cant even live upto my expectations. Neither do i look good nor do i have any talents, sometimes i feel like a complete burden towards this world. I know i can score good in my academic if i work hard but i dont . I dont feel like studying. Their is nothing which interests me other than sleep. I feel so worthless

Dear Aishwariya,
Firstly it’s alright to feel lost and unworthy. The journey to self love is not easy and certainly not a short one. It takes a lot of acceptance, experimentation and change to understand oneself. And this process never ceases. We change, we evolve and that’s how we grow. However, that doesn’t mean you aren’t worthy. You are so much more than academics or conventional beauty standards. You are strong and capable of doing anything you want to. The key to self love is to know things will be alright. And they will be. Give it some time, breathe and spend time with yourself. You’ll know just how perfect you are and that only you can give yourself the validation that you’re seeking. I wish you good luck, and remember, we are all rooting for you. Much love❤️
the whole crap about “love yourself” just sells too much online, it’s become extremely clichéd. so, i get why this whole act may just too much for some of us. But that does not mean that you should self depreciate your worth and your presence in other people’s lives. See, that is the beauty of not being able to see yourself with your own eyes. You don’t even know how much joy your presence brings to the people who love you. I read this long ago: if you can explain why you love someone, it’s not called “love”
I understand how you probably want to do your parents proud and just make the people who are close to you feel loved. But trust me, you don’t have to DO anything to communicate that to them. You just have to treat them with a lot of love and respect in all the little things you do. And you have to find your happiness, because only then can you make everyone else happy. After all, they want you to be happy. You don’t have to do big things to be worthy. You have to be a good human being, a kind person, someone with character and a conscience. Trust me that is more than enough, and less than most people fail to achieve.
You’ll find your path. Studying is not everything, but if it is towards a bigger goal, it can never hurt. Don’t be harsh on your self. You are not a burden. You mean something to someone. Life is hyped up much more than what it is. Just enjoy your existence. Enjoy the trees, the birds, the stars that shine. That is what we were all meant to do. We got too busy trying to be too busy, too important. And forgot to be good and kind. I know this sounds far off. But it is the philosophy that gets me by, and helps me. Hope it helps you too.

Inserting a quote by Lizzo here: “It’s because loving yourself don’t happen overnight… self-hate is years of internalized programming from external influences… sometimes self-hate is chemical & effects ya mentally/emotionally… give your growth time— it took me 10 years and I’m still not 100% there.”

I understand that you feel this way. A lot of us have these moments when we keep finding faults within ourselves. But you must know, that life is not a constant race to prove yourself. It is okay to not feel like studying, it is only natural! Trust me I’ve been having a lot of these days too. But never give up on yourself okay.

Don’t feel like this. I don’t agree with you. Everyone has some hidden talents. The problem is you have not found it yet in yourself. You might be good in something which you have not discovered. Don’t feel burden. Try to develop yourself and realize your worth. You should be confident about yourself and the people you have with you. Love yourself and give time to know you in better manner. World is full of different people. Each have specific qualities.
The first thing is determine your worth and love yourself.
