I am feeling like a loser who cannot work hard enough for anything, isn’t motivated by anything and is going to die useless.
I have no career goals, or life goals and I just feel empty

I hear how painful that is through your words. There are a lot of people who also deal with this. There is nothing to be ashamed of, it affects a lot of us.

You’ve exhibited great courage in taking the first step by reaching out. By explaining what you’re undergoing, you have identified the potential marker of where this discomfort is coming from and this is extremely important.

I’m not a licensed medical professional so please take the below suggestions with a pinch of salt that can perhaps point you in the right direction.

DO:

Engage on platforms where you can voice your opinion. It’s not always easy to speak without being judged. One can’t speak to anyone for the sake of speaking. But there’s a need to speak up what’s going on in your mind. It’s always a good idea to reach out to someone with a similar mindset or experience. And this is where reaching out on a platform such as Now&Me is very useful. You can engage with individuals who are willing to help you out or maybe just listen to you. You don’t have to reveal who you are. Just reveal what’s going on in your mind and get ready to feel lighter.

Talk to your loved ones. Your loved ones can range from your parents, partners, siblings, friends, or anyone with whom you feel comfortable speaking to. They are the ones whom you can trust and speak up without any fear.

Meditation may also help. But to what extent and the related practises is outside the scope of the general suggestions. Maybe you can do independent research and let us know.

Exercise - We’ve all have heard about the benefits of exercising but how is it related to the expression of feelings by introverts? Well, it is related in the way that exercise releases good hormones in the body leading to a positive feeling in the body.

Reflect on your much happier days… what comes to your mind? Try and engage in
activities that make you happy. Implementing skills you have that you’re very good at might be a great start as well.

DON’T:

Don’t suppress your thoughts totally as that can cause additional harm to your mental health.

Don’t Ignore positive feelings or experiences. It can be easy to let the way you’re currently feeling color your view of everything else. Some people start to view life as either all bad or all good, which makes it difficult for them to recover.

Don’t spend a lot of time with friends who increase your negative feelings.

The effort to initially start and do the small things is huge. And the pressure to do anything will seem bigger. So please try and start with something small and see how it goes from there. Always one day at a time.

We’re here for you. You are an amazing human being and sometimes we just need to be reminded of that from time to time.
