How to feel happy? I always end up distracting myself from the real questions and issues …but sometimes these things just comes back to me…it is like a random wave of anxiety… ugh…its frustrating

Happiness is an internal thing. If you feel happy, you will find that everything around you makes you happy. If you are not happy from inside, even if someone is trying to make you smile, you won’t feel the happiness.

But I doubt these things will feel nice to listen to. Want to vent? I’m all ears. We can talk.

Know that your thoughts and feelings aren’t personal. We inherit them from our ancestors and through our conditioning in the early stages of life.

Let go of feeling guilty or having fear about having these thoughts and feelings. Remember these thoughts and feelings aren’t personal. The feelings of anxiety you are having are sensations. Our mind makes up a story about certain feelings and situations. This is not to downplay what you are going through.

Next, be indifferent to your thoughts while being kind to them. They are rationalizations of the present feeling that you are experiencing.

Since we escape, suppress, or repress our thoughts and feelings, they tend to build up in energy. Your job is to allow them to rise and let them run their course. They are sensations you are experiencing.
Find a place where you feel safe and start letting these feelings go.
Do not label them or give them any meaning.

It’s alright to have them. When you have a good relationship with your “negative” feelings, you will start experiencing the inner states of happiness.
