Just try to convince your parent that intercaste marriage is gonna work as you two are really committed to each other and these things really doesn’t matter. For me I have convinced my parent, like I am a Assamese Girl from Assam, my guy he is a Jaat from Delhi NCR. We are totally different. So for you somewhat is more convincing I feel. So show your parent that you both are serious about your relationship and have a trust on you. They will surely understand

My wifes brother wife is so depressed because she always gets beatings from her husband everyday. So she used to always think that her husband sister husband so good and they live properly without any fighting as proper couples. She used to always gets depressed for 5 years why I didn't marry my husband sister husband and i missed the opportunity. So after 5 years she came to my home and told to marry me as she told her problems. She hugged and kissed me due to depression.What should I do should I marry or not I don't anything pls suggest me

This question was asked by a school kid today in one of the session we conducted a seminar as a part of our college assignment, can you imagine, she was in 5th class. I was taken aback by the question, I took some time to process that, but as my partner answered the question, it instilled a refreshing thought.

My colleague: ""Kid, that is a very intellectual question, we all have wondered about it once in our lifetime, but it is all a deep rooted thought that we adults pass onto our children unintentionally, we see our mothers cooking food all the time, our fathers go to work come back, have dinner and go to sleep. We kids see our moms running here and there after we came back from school, we sometimes wonder if it is our mom who is working so hard but is not given the respect that dad gets.
Kid, every work is very important for the betterment of the family and the society at large.""
And this response made me think, Where do 'gender role' come from really? I was thinking about finishing my college, go on do my masters and look for work, but this thought was provoking and I will try to change how people see gender role, I will open an NGO, help the women in the village whose life start and ends in the kitchen, I want to give them something to look forward to, I hope I am able to do so with enough support from everyone around me."
