How do you get over someone you have strong feelings for. I’m having a hard time getting over him and this is just worsened by the fact that he likes me back but we could never be together due to my parents so I feel like the best thing I could do for myself and him as well is to stop having feelings for him.

if you are wavering about it like should i go for it or not, it will always trouble you, so first make a strong decision and stick to it, yes it will be hard in the beginning to forget about someone whom you like so much, but the pain will get managable slowly and then one day you wont feel it anymore, just take each day as it comes, distract yourself when its too painful, start some new activity to hobby, join a course or a class, if you keep yourself busy it will be easy to manage…and once when you feel your in a happy place then think of dating or marraige at that time, getting into a relationship to get over another one doesn’t always work, sometimes it might make things more complicated, so heal yourself first…all the best

First focus on ur career things change by time . Don’t come to conclusions. U can convince ur parents if u people once get settled . Always focus on the good side .

In my experience you can not stop feeling for someone ever completely, but those feelings can be minimised if you try to get into a new meaningful relationship

Yes, like iron cuts iron
Only a new relation can help you overcoming the despair from the previous one

Give it some time, and see it where it takes you. If you’ve got real feelings, it won’t fade over time.
Then convince your parents if you think you are making the right choice.

What’ll you fight for if not for love? Make sure you won’t regret to not choose to fight in the future. I wish you strength.

Yh I get what you mean but I’m literally 16, I’ve got bigger things to focus on like trying to navigate life and what I’ll be doing career wise rather than being stuck on a boy. I’ve already got a horrendous relationship with my parents, and they would never accept him due to discriminatory reasons

Listen if you’re 16, I’d just suggest you to live a little… With age, we’ll all have to live under a certain set of boundaries. Live for yourself as long as you can, keeping things as a secret will push your adrenaline that’ll definitely make you feel better in certain ways. We’ve all been through shit, but we’ve even lived the best of days while doing things for ourselves.
