How do you convince yourself youre enough? I’m talking beyond the yuppie looking in mirror, repeating a mantra - how do you actually do it day in, day out, when a voice at the back of your head constantly tells you otherwise?

Ah, those lovely little voices in our heads trying to convince us we are not worthy or not as good as all the others. The good news is , I think we all have them and sometimes they seem to scream rather than whisper. It’s important to know that these “old thought forms” have been around since most of us were very young children . Our parents, our teachers , the school bully ! And unfortunately, we believed them when they criticized us, compared us with others and judged us . It was literally burned into our subconscious that we were inferior in some or all of our ways . So , for me , I’m understanding that it’s a process and a journey, and It will not heal overnight. Be patient with yourself , for it will take some time . Understanding the negative thoughts are “old” thought (energy) forms from other people and not always your own thoughts is Important. Learning to observe that the thoughts have resurfaced , and simply “watch” them as an observer instead of “reacting “ emotionally , will ease this for you . Over time , you’ll get better and better at catching them before they overtake you . It does take a lot of patience, with yourself more than anything . Understanding you are a beautiful human soul who at your very core , Is Love . Don’t judge yourself or others . And certainly , never , ever compare yourself with another human being . Various Hypnotherapy meditations on Confidence- self love are in abundance on u-tube and the internet . I have found them very helpful in changing negative subconscious beliefs . I hope this has helped in some way , just know , You are Not Alone !

This was quite helpful, thank you! I’d meditated in the past to know that these are not my always own thought(though sometimes they are), but mostly inputs from outside! Its a little hard to simply observe them and more so, to do it gently, but it really boils down practise I guess. So I guess I’ve my work but out for me.
Quick question, this particular technique of overseeing and not reacting you’re saying, are we talking of vipassana here? Because I’d done it in the past and it was good while I lasted. I’m asking because vipassana doesn’t endorse indulging in other mind mediations as it apparently gets in the way?

I’m so glad that it helped some ! I honestly have never heard of vipassana before, but thank you , as I now have something new to research and learn about .
I’m just a student that has read many spiritual books from many masters , and meditation has been a miracle for me for the past 5 years now. So , I guess it’s hard for me to pinpoint a particular technique. I try my best to get quiet in my mind and focus my attention on my breathing and visualize the breath moving in and out of the third eye area , when thoughts come in , I just witness them and let them float by without labeling or judging them. Just witnessing them and not analyzing. I still have certain things that trigger me and the “rejection, not good enough” voice creeps in. It can be very annoying and pesky , and I do get aggravated with myself around certain issues. We are all a work in progress , we are always growing , learning and changing . Seeing the divinity within yourself , knowing you are human but also SO much more that is beyond our level of understanding. Just being ok with who you are on this very moment helps tremendously. Your greatest moment for change is greeting you in your greatest moment of pain. The pain is what causes us to focus more , dig deeper and understand more about ourselves and the world around us . This world is so complex and confusing. Knowing who you are aside from the “human” part of you is fundamental in achieving freedom from feeling not enough . I can only speak from my experience with these things . We all have different belief systems and experiences to draw from . You can find the best thing that works for you and make your own rules about it , because you are unique and there is nothing more beautiful than the unique expression of life that is YOU! It doesn’t matter your station in life , how physically attractive you are , your education level or how much money you have . These things are all surface things … it’s nice to have them , but it doesn’t make us more valuable human beings. The love in Your heart is the only thing that truly matters. I hope it’s ok , all I wrote to you today . I identified with your issue and feel what you described a lot in my life . I’m so grateful for sharing this space here with you to talk about these things safely, without judgement . Peace and love to you my friend !

Dr. Joe Dispenza as well . He really digs into how to change and reprogram the subconscious mind . His book, “Becoming Supernatural “ was incredible and “Breaking the habit of being yourself”

Jokes apart, your continued practise and the effect you say it’s had on you gives me a lot of confidence to stay on my path and I’ll be doing just that. Thanks for sharing the named of these books, I’ve been wanting to get into subconscious programming for a long time now. I’ll definitely check them out!
