Hi, this has been a problem for a number of years, around 2/3. My mother is an alcoholic, I’m 20 years of age and struggling to cope with it much longer. But it’s my mum so I don’t know what to do, I can’t just walk away. When she’s sober she’s absolutely perfect and notices she has a problem but even so the next minute she will be getting drunk saying that she doesn’t have a problem. I know myself already that there’s not much I can do but I was just wondering if anyone else around my age is having a similar problem. Thanks for listening
She’s so in denial she does see the problem. I tried to get her help but as of covid they was only doing telephone calls and it didn’t really help as she would tell them that she’s fine. I don’t have the money to send her to rehab. Thank you for the reply.
Often, alcohol dependency has an underlying problem like depression, stress, anxiety etc…
