hi! i miss my ex who broke up with me 4 days ago, but im trying my best to forget her, i came from an LDR breakup (her reason was our distance) which is 10x harder than a regular breakup imo based on my experience. So any tips on how to get through this?

still day 4, give yourself some time… you cant expect yourself to forget someone just 4 days right after break up, that would be cruel. In the meantime why don’t you just try to accept that it’s finish, respect yourself and try to focus on yourself.

I and my boyfriend will be completing 7 years together this October. We rarely meet. Sometimes in 4-5 months. When he went to college which is located in some other city, we met after months but it never affected our relationship. Distance never mattered. We are so close to each other that when we think about our families, our heart and brain automatically include each other in the picture. Distance shouldn’t be the reason for separation if you want to take your relationship to another level. If you loved each other, you should try to get back with each other. But if it was not just the distance but the relationship had become toxic then I would say it’s better to move on. Initially it will feel bad and heavy. You will feel a void but as days will pass you will learn to live without him. There won’t be any void. Give yourself time. Don’t rush. Just be patient. I would suggest you to write your feelings in a paper and throw it. There is a book by Dale Carnegie which suggests one to write their problem and thereafter write some possible solutions and one by one cross less preferred solutions. This will help you to figure out what you actually need to do. Things will be fine ultimately. Keep yourself busy. Our brains are not made to do multitasking so when you keep yourself busy, you are keeping yourself away from thinking about it.

It’s a shame you’re going through such an agonizing time right now. Few things in life are more painful than the loss of a loved one. Your situation, in fact, reminds me of this ancient wisdom: “Heartache crushes the spirit.” -Proverbs 15:13

Were you aware that heart break often causes the same pain as the death of a loved one?
