Hey internet,
This is the first time I’ve ever posted anonymously but I’m in a bit of a pickle! My girlfriend asked me to marry her last night which is amazing! The problem is that I’m not out to my homophobic dad yet. I’ve been procrastinating quite a bit. I know I have to come out to him now since I’m getting married but It’s always hard coming out.
Sometimes I question if he already knows since he knows my partner and I are living together and we come to family events together but I’m not sure.
Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

First of all, congratulationsss!!! This is great news, I hope that all goes well.
I’d say, if you feel that your dad already has an idea about it, then I’m guessing he’s just trying to respect your privacy and waiting for you to tell him about it. It’s also okay if you procrastinated and took your time. I know it’s not easy. So, take your time and then tell him whenever you feel comfortable.
It’s afterall your life and your decisions. Your dad loves you and will be accepting of your choices!
