First of all. Drop the beer for sleep thing. Even the lowest percentage of alcohol increases stress. Second. Read books. The best buddy you will ever need. And if you still feel alone watch a scary movie. You won’t feel alone anymore. Third. WORK OUT FROM HOMEEE! Run around 5 miles a day and you will see a difference. You don’t need a gym to be fit. Take control over your life to feel better and be productive. Your anxiety and depression aren’t going to be so active if you have a good atmosphere around you. Make friends around where you live, get to know people! Focus on a new skill or improve another! You got this!! And remind yourself that you are the best at being yourself. If you ever feel down tell yourself “my life is too short for whining. I live once and I’m gonna make it worth it! I’m making a change and I’m going to improve everyday!!!”

Are you sure watching a scary movie is something that helps in loneliness? 🤔

Yup. Especially at night. Girl from the ring? She is in the house. Chucky? He is under the bed. Cannibals? They are preparing a soup for them to boil you in. That’s why I love scary movies. They make you feel less alone 😂

I know you are trying to be funny!
But honestly speaking as someone who has felt the “loneliness”, this doesn’t help.

Then go into the real world and meet people. Join some clubs you take interest in. Go to the park and maybe make some small talk and get to know people. If you are socially awkward, there are 1000+ random social platforms to make friends! They are many alternatives. And you can always call an old friend to reconnect

Hey @dhruba!
I know what you mean, I am also an Engineer and I moved to Delhi last year around August. I always thought I would enjoy living alone so, I got a 1BHK apartment and I was living alone and suddenly the feeling of loneliness struck me after living alone for a week and I felt that way for 4months and later I decided to move with one of my colleagues in a 2BHK apartment and it helped a lot I had someone to talk to with just one disadvantage that the office talk and frustration continued to our homes.
I would suggest you, talk to your friends or family over the phone call.
I have never tried therapy but I am hoping it will help in this case.
Good luck 😀

@shikha

Hi! I can totally relate to how you are feeling. I went through the same thing around this time last year however my sadness was because of a failed relationship. I was lonely too, I ended up running back home and I am still unemployed. I make plans but nothing seems to work out for me. Though I am with my family now yet I am not content. Just hang in there with the hope that things will get better.
