Hey everyone, I’m having a real problem with my family. I want to say, I don’t doubt that I’m lucky having such supportive and really kind parents and sister, but I don’t feel free. I’m sixteen now and I am not allowed to make my own decisions even when I have my arguments. For example it is prohibited for me to travel or go on a holiday neither with friends, nor with relatives for even just one day, I cannot easily tell my friends I’m coming with them to a party because of my srtict parents. I totally respect their thoughts, rules and points of view, but I don’t see that it is fair when they only refuse a “suggestion” I make without any reason to convince me and change my mind. I’m talking generally about how they are overprotective and don’t let me live my teenage freely. I don’t ask this total freedom, I actually only need some of it in order to have an opportunity to prove my responsibility and maturity. I feel that I need to be free and make my own decisions but they just say NO. I tried to discuss this with them, I tried some ways to show them I can be trustworthy… and unfortunately it didn’t work… I need your help guys… what should I do?
Unfortunately kids with strict parents start to disobey . Coz theres no other way for you to enjoy. And i think you should do it once, coz always being overprotective about you would never let you grow and become mature. Sneak out and disobey. Youre a teenager and thats what teenagers do. If you always become a good biy in your parents eyes, trust me you are missing on a lot of learning and growth opportunities
I know that’s what I hear a lot these days… But I’m not sure this is a good idea… I mean, I’m thinking about the consequences, if I enjoy a single day, maybe I will get punished for a week. I don’t know, it also sounds scary “disobeying parents”…
