I was dating a girl for a year and we got into the relationship on the terms that we will get married and only with serious thoughts but now when she has told her family about US they are not willing to let her go to a family of different religion (Im a sikh and she is from a hindu background) and she doesn't even want to stand up or speak up and is not even willing to try .
So based on this she has dumped me and suddenly i feel very very lost

How trustable are people, especially girls you meet/find online, and get her phone number, and you start talking on text.
I just wanted to ask this forever, and it seems there's no perfect enough or satisfactory enough answer for me despite me trying hard for a good answer.
Just how much can you trust someone you meet entirely online, and obtain each other's numbers?
I can't stress enough on the online part - you find a "girl" and you start talking, and it so happens that you exchange phone numbers, and start texting on, say, whatsapp or something like that... so, as a normal guy, who's very concerned about online frauds and stuff like that, that happen a lot nowadays, the so called girl is a part of some larger syndicate or something, or maybe something worse than that.. and the guy ends up losing money, or his life, for no apparent reason, just because of his naivety and silly mistakes, obviously. 
So, just how do you even know that she is real, and there's nothing sinister about the entire thing.
Obviously I'm a guy, and talking from a guy's perspective, and I'm fully aware that females have this much harder and have more crimes committed against them, but there's guys who are abused, tortured, killed, etc, too, and I'm not denying the women's side, I'm just focused on the guy side.
Please let me know anything and everything about this, any tips and guides about this are appreciated very much, provided they're talking about the guy side.
