I think no matter how much it hurts you, and no matter how bad this person broke you. step one that u probably do is saying ITS OVER. and yeah goodbye for this person. Then? Yeah ur leaving the place that hurts u but u still broken and cant forget what he did. Especially if u gave this person your all and love. So that last choice for bringing back your own peace is to forgive him, forgiving him literally. Then forgiveness step by step gonna reverse bad memories into less matter things (Archive). And then u will be able to forget this person with all what he did.

In somepoint in your life u gonna forget. Or you gonna remember and say “i was stupid, im not gonna do it again” , or u gonna tell this story to someone else and laugh and nobody can understand that stories that make us laugh the ones which hurt us so bad and made who we are today.
