People would often inquire why I wore such a cheerful countenance, and their presence felt at ease in my company. However, somewhere along my journey, life dealt me a heavy blow, causing me to forget how to smile. Now, those same individuals question the absence of my laughter, perplexed by the tension and anger etched onto my face. Though they still hold affection for me, an undercurrent of fear tinges their interactions. I perceive their apprehension, yet I've come to realize that this change is beyond my control. Just as my previous smiles were involuntary, so too are the anger and tension that now consume me. At times, I feel like a mere automaton, navigating each day devoid of purpose. I find myself shying away from social encounters, no longer investing effort into connecting with others; instead, I choose to avoid them. It is not society or societal norms that have influenced me, but rather a suffocating sense of guilt and regret for failing as a daughter, as a friend, and as my authentic self. Yet, I remain uncertain as to who determined the definitions of "good" or "wrong." Regardless, I find myself trapped within these confines, yearning to break free.
