Every day I think of getting up, make a schedule to follow, do exercise, give time for study and do something productive, learn software but that every day never comes. Am getting distracted a lot, am not studying properly since it’s online, I don’t do anything, I watch series, movies, and sleep. I do attend classes and submit my assignments on time but yet it’s kinda getting difficult to make my mind to something productive.

Since the breakout of COVID-19 and the implementation of national lockdown, many schools, universities and other educational institutions have started remote education by setting up online classes. Attending classes from home might seem like a great idea as it saves a lot of time and is more comfortable, but it’s not as simple as it sounds. Many students struggle with maintaining the same level of focus they have when they are in a classroom as it’s easier to get sidetracked at home. It’s difficult enough to concentrate for a long time, which is why we previously wrote our How to Stay Focused for a Long Time blog; but now students have to think about ways to focus on classes while staying at home as well. Attending online classes is definitely new territory for most students.

Hey dude, I struggle with maintaining a productive day as well. But sometimes I realise that it’s because I put too much on my shoulders and the tasks become overwhelming.
I started writing the most important things I have to do during the day on post its so that I can be reminded of what to finish first.
It also helps me to put my phone on airplane mode and to listen to movie soundtracks while I work (my favorite ones are the musics from Coraline and Song of the sea, they’re very calming). I just check if I get any important messages every hour just in case.

Don’t pressure yourself too much if you don’t finish everything in one day though! Resting is also very important and I think we all have a lot of tiring thoughts in our minds nowadays (worrying too much about the pandemic and stuff).

It’s always good to take time for yourself to recharge your battery :)
