No you shouldn’t be friends with him seeing him will keep reminding you of your memories together so it’s better to brake off every connection or it can also effect your daily life
What about the same friend group? Everyone will hang out together and I won’t be able to avoid him. And if we hang out with everyone and not speak it can get awkward for others
Why would everyone get akward tell everyone that you are not comfortable being around him and I think you should ignore what they think because no matter you talk to him or not they are gonna say bad about you

Trust me those feelings will always pop up when you’re around her so my suggestion is to ignore her as much as possible.
So I waited for a year until we finally met and boy was I broken again and the fact that she’s seeing someone else hurted me even more which was clearly a sign that I still wasn’t over her and the pain I felt was the same as I felt before .
So my suggestion would be wait for atleast a year. The time frame varies from person to person.
