Kindly refrain from asking for any professional opinions on mental health. Think of it more as a friendly chat!

Hey!
While going through some of the messages here or on Instagram, do you feel what is happening to this generation where everyone is more depressed than being happy/satisfied?
OR
Feel like why is this xyz person doing this instead of focusing on other things that are more important in life and will shape their future?
Honest opinions only!π
Bani Singh @banisinghvasir
Hi Simran π
Since youβve asked me to be honest with you, Iβll be very candid with my thoughts!
First, my observations
Every generation comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities.
This statement helps me empathise with the mindset each generation has, and therefore applaud them for their best and understand them for their worst.
Having said that, I honestly did earlier wonder if our generation is entitled and is therefore exhibiting a certain kind of behaviour.
But my conclusion
- Our lifestyle, social, cultural, technological shifts and trends play a huge role in influencing who we are. With the enormous access, to people, knowledge, choices that we have, it has come to our generation, both as a boon and a bane. And the enormous βaccessβ really just feels like an illusion because it is so vast that it quite often feels unattainable, as it very well might be. This genuinely breeds feelings of dissatisfaction and insufficiency.
- Then again, since we seem to be transitioning into a hopefully more open and inclusive society, at least even if somewhat tokenistically, these βissuesβ are now out in the open, which earlier people suppressed and perhaps lead miserable lives because of. And that I know to be true.
My understanding is, if people earlier were better off, it is not because mental health issues were less or more, but that their needs and wants were less, and their life was simpler, it wasnβt bombarded with an excess of everything. Technology playing a key role.
TL;DR
If I earlier felt that GenZ was entitled, spoilt & didnβt have a thick skin, I now feel for Generation Z, because they are going through different challenges which may seem trivial but do have a severe impact on their mental health, which they are really working to get over, despite the system.
Ana Banach @johnthejohn
Hi!
I want to know, how did you come up with this?
βοΈ
Bani Singh @banisinghvasir
Hi @johnthejohn π
Thank you for your question! I think @drishtigupta and I both mutually agreed, that we had, at some point felt the need for a platform like this in our lives.
We understood that during difficult times, all you really need is a listening ear or you just need someone to let you know that itβll be okay. Sometimes, thatβs really all it takes. And thatβs how we got started!
We heard from our friends too that they wished the platform had existed earlier on in their lives too.
We also believed that inherently people are good and kind and want to help, and thatβs where people like you step in, who really just help others out because of the goodness of their heart π§‘
Ana Banach @johnthejohn
Aw, thatβs sweet. Thank you, and good job!
Avi @avi
How did you felt when you got the first user expressing their emotions on this platform?
And what is your feeling now when you see all these people opening this website, and putting down their thoughts/emotions/feelings here?
Bani Singh @banisinghvasir
Ah! Thanks for the nostalgic question @avi π«
It was a wonderful feeling then, and it is a wonderful feeling now. Each thought overwhelms us, in a good way, because we are so happy to think about the person who wrote it, and the relief they would have felt in their heart after that.
It truly feels like a blessing when we witness the magic that happens here at Now&Me.
We could earlier count those number of people on our fingers, and now we cannot, and thatβs the only difference!
Avi @avi
This sounds really great! Thanks for sharing
Hope you have to get million-million more fingers to count the number of people π€

Bani Singh @banisinghvasir
Heyy @sontsingh23!!! Youβre not a burden on anyone, whoever makes you feel like youβre a burden is the problem. I can understand how difficult it must be for you because we all love our pets so much. Keep your faith, and keep fighting, better days do comeβ¦we are with you. You need to just show them that you can take care of your puppy and that they wonβt have to be bothered by it. Itβs possible to figure out a solution, okay? Stay with us, donβt leave us β€οΈ
