I don't know why people love to poke their nose in other's business. My mom has a friend, she belongs from a very influential family. Her son got admission in a private law college. While I had to drop for my entrance exams. His mother asked my mom what I was pursuing and she replied, 'She is currently in her drop year'. To this she replied 'Why is she wasting her years. She should have applied to other course as medicine is not the only thing'. While I do agree medicine isn't the only thing but I do not want to pursue other course until I am satisfied with my efforts and I sincerely want to pursue this field.
Now, I do not belong from a family who is as influential him and neither are we wealthy like him (I belong from a middle class household). I do not have money to afford expensive institutes or private colleges. 99% of my friends went on to pursue engineering in private colleges despite their horrible scores in entrance exams. Rest one 1% went to Russia or Ukraine to pursue MBBS, and one who barely managed to clear NEET got into a private dental college (management quota). 
I have stopped talking to them. No, I wasn't jealous, but their career advices for me made my blood boil. Not even one of my friends managed to bag a government college seat (not only engineering but also medicine). I have only one friend who is preparing for NEET with me and is in the same situation.
I want to give my best shot and what's wrong with that. Almost everyone got what they due to their parent's money and some parents even pulled few strings to get their beloved son/daughter into private colleges.  I am doing what I can afford to do. 

Is it wrong for us middle class children to dream big and try to run after our dreams? Or should we give up on our dreams just because we lack money and influences?

Coming to the point I always wanted to become a doctor ... it was my passion since my childhood.... but exactly before the final exam I got badly distributed and distracted because of my friends,I know that the one to be blamed is no one but me . I didn’t make it to med school. I asked my parents if I could take long term and try it again . My mom never liked the idea because she always wanted me to become an engineer like my dad . My dad is an engineer and he is very respected in his profession. My dad wanted to me to not have any regrets so he said yes to long term 
But then came my brother , he spoke with me , he basically cornered me when I was in the weakest in my life , I couldn’t take it anymore and gave in , I said i will take engineering and look after the company after my dad . 
All of them were happy, all that whole I felt like a disappointment to my family and once they were all happy with me .. so I just went along with it 
I joined engineering finished and after my second sem started covid had come 
So we came home and soon after that I lost my mom to pancreatitis . It was a very hard time for me .. not only me my whole family , but that made me realise something : 
Life is short .. and my mom tried to live it to her fullest 
Even being at the age of 52 she enrolled to bharatnatyam classes because she always wanted to learn classical dance 
She inspired me to stop caring about what others might think and start living life as our own wish 
After a few months of depression and suicidal thoughts I finally spoke up and told my dad that I couldn’t do engineering anymore ... that the regret of not doing medical was eating me up inside 
Initially he wasn’t happy with me ... but he soon accepted the fact that I was deteriorating day by day ... he couldn’t bare it anymore and h said asked me to stop doing engineering and start doing medical 
Using my previous score i got into a college 
None of them are happy with this decision 
They keep telling me it was my mom’s dream that I take care of the company after my dad 
I seriously don’t know what to do 
It just hurts a lot to see that most of the people who are close to your heart do not accept your decisions
One question keeps on haunting me 
Would amma have said yes to this change of career choice of mine ? 
This is a question to which no one can answer 
And it just eats me up 
I really wish I get to speak with her once 
I wish she comforts me 
I really wish she was here with me rn 
Cause this is hurting like shit

how was my day?it was quite good i just completed my 12th practicals and it feels good.
so i totally suck at studying and i have this strange obsession on film making and if i want to talk about it i can go for hours but being in my 12th grade and this passion for story telling is fucking up my mindset, i am at this point where i had discussed with other people and myself on becoming a film maker i am aware of the risks and sometimes its just me and my thoughts and i can't see myself working at a job irrelevant of the position or pay.My parents been paying for my jee tuition for the past one year(akash classes) and guess my marks in the last two exams 4%tile and 3%tile.cause i have no interest over this and my parents not forceful and they are genuinely supportive im planning on joining a film school and i want to break this news to my parents cause i don't see myself studying in an engineering uni trying to cope with studies and film making.if there is any of you people that could help by sharing your personal experience or just educate me with the best way to tell this to my parents.thank you❤️
