is it a good idea to message my ex after we broke up i mean it has been 5 days i wanted to but i don't wanted to be blocked

Today there was an argument which almost violent in the fam, even tho it had nothing to do with me It’s giving me immense stress on what’ll happen next, the perpetrator lives just downstairs but in a different house, is my life in danger am I going to get nabbed and tortured and subject to mind games? am I going to get killed by getting caught in the cross fires? I am not armed nor am I a fighter, I’m just anxious on what’ll happen next? and when? And how? Although I do will encounter this person tomorrow at a common public place to which I hope it doesn’t ignite anything and that I can go on with my life and move out of here.
