If its because of a heartbreak then believe me listen to slow and sad songs it helps you to cry and get over with it . But after some days of maybe weeks stop this and try to control your thoughts on your own. Thats how I got over it.

That happens quite sometimes.
To deal with it, I try to be in the moment and feel that pain and sorrow. As those emotions are the truth at the moment. They must also be respected. After sometime, that emotion begin to get replaced by another thoughts, thoughts which are more positive. Using affirmations makes that task a lot easier. Soon, good feelings overtake the negative emotions, and it starts feeling better.
