The thing with depression is that, the person suffering from it, does not think he/she is useful to themselves or others in any possible way. Its just their mind convincing them they arent good enough. Its like waking up with a feeling like you have heard a very bad news even though nothing bad has happened. The amount of distress that the mind feels is nothing as compared to the physical ones.
Not all of us share the same mentality or will power. Hence, some come through and some dont. For those who are struggling, face constant need of ceasing their existence cause they believe its for the better. They believe that they are hopeless and that they would be a burden to their family or loved ones later in life if not at that particular moment.
So those who dont understand this, please donot process to give suggestions. Donot tell them that if you want to sacrifice your life then do it this way or that way or be helpful to others, save the country, die a martyr. Its not helping the person, its making them feel more awful. One has to be a good listener in order to be a good advisor.
I hope this doesnt come out as a negative message to anyone here. Peace!
