A few suggestions that may help…

1. Try and have your resume looked at by someone to see if it’s matching the keywords that the particular job post is asking for. Trying the shotgun approach in this pandemic is not a great idea. Shotgun approach means using one standard resume template and sending it to over 20 or even 100 companies. This very rarely yields results from my past experience.

2. After you’ve had your resume looked at, most job profiles have a contact number of the recruiter or even hiring person. Contact them always first and build a friendly rapport with them by asking how they are along with their family and work your way thru that conversation by asking about the job opening. Why does this work mostly?

It’s because you’re resume is no longer a “profile” to be viewed and chucked… but rather a brief connection was formed with that person and even though it may be temporary, they will remember you. When the resume is sent after the conversation, always ensure in your emails to them that you remind them of when you spoke to them (only once… because if you do it over and over it can become annoying for them).

3. I heard the actor Sonu Sood did alot of work for people out of work from almost all sectors all over India. I was unable to find his foundation related information… but did find the below website which is his:

https://www.goodworker.in/

That website itself has a few openings and would recommend being flexible keeping your circumstances in mind. You can also contact them first and ask for additional pathways that they may be able to advise. Who knows… you just might end up working for them or they can assist with your job hunt further.

4. LinkedIn - Do not underestimate the power of this platform. Please use this wisely as you are dealing with real people and it can in it’s own way also yield results.

5. https://www.sixinterns.in/ - I recently came across this site as they offer paid internships. Might not be much but will atleast bring in some income. I read somewhere on their site that an intern earns a minimum of 8,000 INR - not sure though how this figure came out to be.

I know the suggestions are a bit lengthy and time consuming to follow thru… but mark my words on points 1, 2 & 4. Time and again, those job hunting principles have saved me many times. I wish you best of luck and let us know how it goes.
