I feel terrible for not applying for an exam. At the time of registering, I had thought there was no need because there was such a low chance of getting through. Now, when the date is nearing and I see my classmates prepare for it, I'm feeling some kind of FOMO. I keep wondering if there would have been some chance of qualifying I had given a shot. I don't know what to do.

i dont know if anyone has been in this situation or not but still will pour out my heart here after fighting with my self for over a month. its a long story. 
so, i met this guy when i was in a very dark phase moment of my life (also involving guys). we were friends at first but then he fell for me and later i did. so long story short we were and are really serious about each  other and from the start wanted to marry each other and wanted a life together. We were together 4 months. those were the best 4 months of our life. well i am financially stable in Australia since i live with my family and he is alone here on student visa. we both are from same religion but our cast is different. he is happy to to do everything for me. after 4 months, my parents dropped the bomb of marriage. in our culture its arrange marriage usually. well they did ask that i like someone. i said to them no because if i introduce him now they would refuse him because my parents will think he is only marrying me for money and status which is not the case. that's why i took one year from my parents so that he can achieve something and then can respectfully talk to my dad. after we talked about 1 year, his attitude changed as in his messages became less which i get it but still effecting me a lot. plus all of this situation and tension i am bearing for a month now has changed my personality. i haven't laughed or been happy since then and my parents are crazy asking what's wrong tell us. I cannot tell us because he feels if i tell was with a guy like this and they do not agree they would actually not respect me any more and he donot wants that. he says if we have to choose between love and respect choose respect. i get his point and that's why i love him. i am unable to hide the pain and  its clearly on my face all the time. my dad says i am hurting my self and now your parents with you to talk to u but there will be a time your parents will also leave explaining you to be happy and you will be all alone. i get his point and i want to be happy but the thought of separation and things after a year is hurting me. i haven't cried this much in 23 years. i have no one to talk to. i told my sis about him but that was the biggest mistake. i do not trust her for some reason since beginning.
in short, how to hide pain anyone tell me and portray i am happy. at least my parents would be happy that i am happy regardless how i am. i have to hide my feelings because i live with family and he lives alone. you can hide your feelings friends and the world but what when you come home and you are done. you cant hide in your self nor say it out.. in short suffering. he did indicate his mom about me at least but i couldn't say anything because of the respect factor. I think people from India Pakistan and Asian can understand better my whole situation. 
Please can someone suggest how can i portray i am happy and live a normal life and bury my emotions and feelings deep down my heart.

3am Thoughts

Will my ex ever suffer for all the damage he has caused to me over past 6 years? He has hurt me so bad I am scared if I will ever fall in love. He was bad for me and it has hurt me so much that even after putting up with him so many times, I am the one who is damaged. He seems to be enjoying his life guilt free. His cheating and rude ass isn't even sorry.
