My girlfriend and I have been dating for sometime. It's been a wonderful experience since she's my first girlfriend. Before her, I had only dated guys. I absolutely am in love with her and see a future with her but whatscares me a lot is coming out to my super religious homophobic parents. I hope things work out for me

Hey all. I’m looking for advice from someone in the LGBT community. I’m having a weird sense of identity at this point in my life. I want to be a part of the LGBT community because I love so many of its members and we share a lot of the same ideologies. I’ve always considered myself a Allie. I support organizations within the community, I advocate for their rights, I’ve been out for protests, and you’ll catch me downtown every year for pride day.
I become conflicted however, when I realize that I myself am a heterosexual. I’m certainly not your average hetero male. I think gender norms in relationships and in life are wak as fuck. I wear funny hats some days because it makes me feel pretty. And I’ve always wanted the confidence to wear kimonos and feel good about the way that I look. I honestly reject some aspects of myself that are considered masculine. I feel all of the best aspects of my character are feminine and I embrace that fact and I feel better about myself in flamboyant clothing.

The issue arises when I realize that I’m heterosexual and not actually LGBT but I’m just an Allie. I want to be a part of the community and I want to meet people who share my ideologies, but I can’t help but feeling like I’m faking being a member. I don’t want people to think that I don’t believe in these things or feel like I don’t belong simply because I’m heterosexual. I’ve thought about a label for myself as “heterosexual queer” but that in itself is paradoxical. 

If anyone can provide thoughts or opinions it would be greatly appreciated. I want to be apart of it but I don’t want my lack of different sexual orientation to come off as insincere and I don’t want to offend anyone who is true LGBT by undermining who they are.

Hey internet,
This is the first time I've ever posted anonymously but I'm in a bit of a pickle! My girlfriend asked me to marry her last night which is amazing! The problem is that I'm not out to my homophobic dad yet. I've been procrastinating quite a bit. I know I have to come out to him now since I'm getting married but It's always hard coming out. 
Sometimes I question if he already knows since he knows my partner and I are living together and we come to family events together but I'm not sure.
Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

how can I come out? last year on my birthday I told my mum I wasn't Christian she kinda accepted me she told me to wear a cross a few times but after I didn't do it she stopped.
my mum knows about me liking girls, well yes but no she knows but she might think I regret sleeping with my best friend do I? no I don't but it happened at such young age I think that I ruined my own life, of course, what I did is connected to what happened to me when I was even much younger than that. I'm planning on moving away from this place when I'm old enough and have money for it. so if she doesn't accept me it won't bother me I just don't want her to yell at me or tell other people. when I told her I wasn't Christian she IMMEDIATELY called her friend for advice and didn't even ask me if I wanted to tell her friend, her friend is very close to us and I'm close to their children. but they're racists and homophobic so I try to avoid them. her friend wanted to test me, well I think that way. they said IN FRONT of me that gay and lesbian people were dirty and poorly raised WHILE looking at ME, they were looking at me for my reaction and I couldn't do anything about it, I felt uncomfortable and couldn't move and speak. I felt gross and wanted to cry. I couldn't do anything I can't protect myself or the people that they talked shit about. I have never been able to say what I thought because no one asked me for my opinion, I just want to tell her I like girls without my heart beating so fast that it's the only thing I hear. I'm scared to say what I think just because she won't think the way I do. she said that I'm really open-minded and yeah I am but she isn't trying to change. my mum asked me to correct her opinion if she's wrong? she has a right to have her opinion but I think it's wrong to judge or talk shit about other ppl just because they are doing something that you don't approve of. how can I teach her to be open-minded and accept me? how can I be calm and confident when asking her stuff like this?  please help me

Idk just wanted to get that off my chest somewhere since I've never told anyone this 



Since I am new here, I am going to do a run down on my life. When I was born, my parents were together for a little while, then they split. My mom got custody and I would see my dad on Wednesday and every other weekend. Sometimes, he wouldn't show up. For the next few years, he was on and off and he would spoil rotten. Skip forward a few years, my grandpa died from lung cancer. We were really close too. A little bit after that, my step dad and my mom got together. I went from being an only child to having two siblings. We grew up. At age 10, I started to like girls. At age 11, I came out as lesbian. (Because at this time, I was a girl). Then I kept switching between Bisexual and Lesbian and Omni and Pan. I just couldn't figure it out. All I knew was, I was not normal. My sixth grade year, I started questioning my gender.  At that point, I liked any gender. I started to go by she/they. I didn't like it. And I didn't know why. That year, I befriended a lesbian. I fell in love with her. But, she was dating someone. I fell in love with someone else. There was a lot of stuff. And at one point, we kissed, then she turned on me. She hated me. Then, we became friends again. Then I had to switch schools. I started to cut. I got so depressed. I got a crush on yet another girl. She likes someone else. At this time, I had done shoved down that feeling. But, it reserfused. I took quizzes and each time, I wished that male would show up. I took that as a sign, and the more I think about it, I feel so uncomfortable as a female. So, now I currently Identify as a Omnisexual Male.
