I’m curious - would it be such a big deal or live altering event? I kinda think they mean no harm and just for fun.
I realize that some things I did for fun and also love when I was young hurt my friends, if my friends ever explained that to me I’d have never done it, so please explain to them in a fun way that such stupid thing will probably make you unhappy on your birthday, I’m sure they’ll not post anything. On a side note, as much as I can relate and understand how frustrated you feel, if you don’t feel comfortable or if you don’t trust your circle make new friends and choose people who can understand and feel for you

Yup. I somehow figured a way out and 8t worked. It’s not just about birthday pics, he kind of pulled legs of others and put them in a embarrassing way including me.😅
So , your weakness in this scenario is , getting embarrassed and reacting to it when they post ugly pics. You simply can’t say without reacting or feeling embarrassed. It’s natural. But This is your/our weakness. And they are playing on it.
You just have to find their one of the weakness or some hidden secrets and start playing on them. And when they come to you requesting to stop, then you know what to do…
In my case, i happened to click his embarrassing photos (candidly) , and showed it to him. He was more insecure than all of us. And started to beg not to share. I didn’t share and he was polite from then on…
So essence of above Paras is, “never play with others weakness. Don’t let other know your weakness”
